The Rose
Nestled in the garden
Trimmed and well kept
Behind the smooth petals
The rose flower hides
Pinkish and moist
Full of fragrance
Though it is hiding
Behind the soft folds
Bees come by
See no thorns
Try to get in
And suck the nectar
They may succeed
They may not
But they find the thorns
Whether succeeded or not

Rain
Fall down
On a dry desert
Churning in the heat
Yearning for some comfort
Fall down
On lush green fields
Pleasing to the eye
Helping to remain so
Fall down
On mountains so high
Giving birth to rivulets
Growing as they flow
Fall down not
On the homeless so pitiful
And those rushing for home
After a day so long
