The sky turns sour
Darkens
Explodes
Breaking down in tears
Relieving its pain
By battering poor earth
Clears its face
Perhaps so happy
To smile colorfully

Or to someone ahead of me
Or beyond me
Nothing said aloud
That I could hear
Thoughts tumbled
Answers fumbled
My eyes said something

I open the window
To calmness
Brighter and serene
Than the depths and crevices
The nooks and cracks
The turns and paths
In my labyrinthine mind
The mango tree
Now old and fruitless
Stands
Bathed in full moon light
Calm
Happy
Proud
There are other mango trees
It says
And other trees
But apart from them all
There is me
It says
I listen
And close the window

The Mirror

Keeping her face
On the lake surface
She asks herself
Am I pretty
Water ripples
Never stop
Like her heart and mind
Never rests
Mirrors tell of her beauty
The river
Tells her of her heart
Pretty but ripples
With ups and downs
